The High Line in NYC opens to the public on Sun. July 12

The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated, steel structure built in the 1930s to carry freight trains. It currently runs from Gansevoort Street, in the Meatpacking District, through the West Chelsea gallery neighborhood, ending at 34th Street, next to the Jacob Javits Convention Center. The last train ran on it in 1980.

The High Line will soon be opened to the public. To celebrate this, Target has joined with Friends of the High Line for a Street Festival this Sunday, July 12. The free, family-friendly festival will be at Ganesvoort Street (between 9th and Washington St.) from 12-5pm.

The BEST part is that the Festival will feature the world’s largest lemonade stand, served from a classic NYC water tank
